“The mind is like water. When it’s turbulent, it’s difficult to see.
When it’s calm, everything becomes clear.” — Prasad Mahes
What is Emotional Freedom Techniques?
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a somatic (body-based) approach to safely regulate the nervous system, reduce intense, unpleasant emotions, reprocess difficult memories, and release persistent negative thoughts or limiting beliefs and gain a newfound healthier perspective of yourself and a sense of compassion, understanding and personal empowerment.
EFT is a self-applied stress reduction tool that anyone can learn and use to calm the mind and body and be more focused and more relaxed.
When the mind and body are under stress and go into survival mode, both adrenaline and cortisol production are increased to prepare the body to go into the “fight or flight” response.
When in survival mode, it is more difficult for a person to think clearly and see a situation for what it really is.
Applying EFT regulates the nervous system, thereby reducing both adrenaline and cortisol levels, allowing the mind to come back online and allowing the body to relax. A person becomes more present.
